NITO membership means you support the only organization advocating for the interests of independent agencies, management companies, and the thousands of artists we represent.
Joining NITO provides members with the opportunity to meet and collaborate with other independent music professionals and to build a community that helps everyone’s business flourish. For those who choose to get more involved and join a committee or task force, it provides the opportunity to dive into current issues, have your voice heard and help shape the future of our industry in meaningful ways.
NITO’s Executive Director Nathaniel Marro, our board, and member volunteers work tirelessly on a range of issues, engaging with lawmakers and other organizations to advocate on behalf of our members and ensure our voice has a seat at the table. Along with advocacy, paying members receive a growing list of programs, perks and discounts that are available to your company and every member of your staff.
National / Enterprise Car Rental Deals
NITO members can now receive preferred rates and perks through National / Enterprise Car Rental and free Emerald Status, allowing you to reserve a car ahead of time and go right to your vehicle instead of the reservation counter. For standard rentals, rates will include damage waiver. There are special rates for one way trips and larger vehicle rentals (passenger vans & Sprinter vans available) and these rates can be shared with member’s clients.
NITO Member Portal
All active members of NITO and their staff have access to our updated member portal. There you’ll find the NITO member directory, the NITO member forum, where you can interact with other members, share resources and insight, a NITO job board and bulletin-board style postings to help find support acts and co-bill packaging. All of our member discounts and resources are hosted here along with registration for upcoming events and meet-ups. The member portal is only available to dues-paying members.
Monthly “Ask Me Anything” Zooms
Our monthly Zooms feature special guests like Amy Tavel and Abbie Riley, of Spotify’s Fans First program and performance marketing services for live events, who discussed what Spotify offers touring artists and venues; Keli Tomack of EPIC, who spoke about securing affordable touring insurance for small to mid-level acts; Brita Christensen of Ticketmaster, who discussed their face value ticket exchange system, and many others. We aim to make these Zooms beneficial to our members and they are only available to active NITO members. An archive of these videos is also hosted in our member portal.
Negotiated Terms & Conditions
NITO worked with Live Nation to review their standard Terms and Conditions and negotiated one set of pre-approved T&Cs for any NITO member to use. We are actively doing this with other companies and organizations, using our collective resources to negotiate fairer terms. This will save companies hours of paperwork hassles and allow for contracts to be returned cleanly.
Tour Affordability Efforts
NITO is partnered with EPIC to offer affordable insurance for small & mid-level touring acts, including coverage requirements at major festivals. At an average price of $1,050 to $1,700 per year, it includes general liability, damage to premises, instruments, audio, lighting, and lost merchandise for unlimited performances and festivals with additional coverage available. NITO is working on additional benefits, including hotel and travel deals, to help support our artists and cut down the costs of touring.
Conference Meetups
NITO hosts meetups for members and potential members at conferences and conventions, including APAP, IEBA, NIVA, Folk Alliance, Americana Fest and more.
NITO Newsletters
NITO members are automatically signed up for our newsletters, which send out the most up-to-date information on the organization, upcoming advocacy initiatives and ways to get involved in NITO efforts.
